North River NY

With plenty of outdoor activities in and around North River NY, thousands of visitors make it to this small town each year. Perhaps best known for its proximity to Gore Mountain, North River is also home to one of the world’s largest garnet deposits. So if you know anyone with a birthday in January (garnet is January’s birthstone), make a trip to North River to go on a guided tour of the mine and collect some garnet.

North River NY is also home to miles of cross country skiing trails. When planning a trip to ski Gore Mountain, plan some extra time to enjoy the section of the Adirondacks that North River has to offer.
